Earn money blogging

How to earn money blogging? Hello and welcome to the SEO Village. I guess you’re here because you have a blog or you are thinking about that idea? Say no more. I believe you’re in the right place because today we have a special guest in our SEO village. That’s Mary Elle, beauty, lifestyle and fashion blogger that is actually earning money from her blog. You can check her website by clicking here .

So let’s move on the INTERVIEW

Mary Elle

Why did you start blogging in the first place?

I wanted to make money online. I wanted a freedom lifestyle, I wanted to work anywhere in the world!

How did you start to earn money blogging

I made my first blog posts with the only intention of ranking it in the search engines and making money off of affiliate offers.

I started making affiliate money within 6 months, and then used the blog as experience to get a remote job with an SEO company.

I now only run my own blogs, but do take on clients to help them with optimizing their sites.

How long did it take before you earned money from blogging?

Within 6 months.

What did you do before blogging? When was the moment you realized you can blog as a full time job?

I ran my own makeup and hairstyling business. I realized blogging was lucrative when I kept reading everywhere that people were making money from their blogs.

What is the most effective strategy for promoting your blog?

To implement SEO from the beginning. Always be learning new things. Since I’ve got SEO down, I’m now learning social media strategies

What are some affiliate marketing sources that can be useful for beginners, that don’t have so much traffic on their website?

Depending on your niche, learn to use Pinterest to your advantage. It can drive traffic to your website a lot faster than SEO.

How often do you use SEO, and what are the best SEO tools you would recommend?

I use SEO every time I make a blog post. Since Google’s keyword planner is no longer offering accurate results for keywords, I’m using Toolfeast’s Autosuggest for keyword research.

In the beginning, I loved SEOMoz, Semrush, and Ahrefs to look at my competitors.

What is your opinion on email marketing, and how can someone start using it on a regular basis, what are your advice?

I love having an email list to connect and build my “know, like, trust” factor with my audience. I am working on that right now, and I see the potential in building that relationship, and it’ll benefit my business for any future products or services I may offer.

  • Hello,
I’m a new blogger and so was obviously very excited at the title of this post. It was short and to the point which I appreciate. But I was wondering if you could go into more details on the affiliate money thing?
Also if you have any more advice for those of us just starting out?
    – Sian

  • Thanks for sharing this interview! I am impressed that you made money within the first 6 months.
